175+ cities around the world will be hosting Twestivals which bring together Twitter communities for an evening of fun and to raise money and awareness for charity: water.
The Berlin Twestival will be hosted by St. Oberholz Bar, starting @ 8 pm.
We´ll have speakers, musicians, a charity surprise and definitely some impro content ;-)
No entrance, but we´ll ask for your donation to charity:water (see intro video further down).
Why Twestival? What´s it all about?
The global twestival (twitter + festival) events raise awareness and collect money for charity : water
This non profit organization is bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of the money raised goes to direct project costs, funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need. They also work to raise awareness of the water crisis through events, fundraising exhibitions and other public awareness campaigns.
Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable to the consequences of unsafe drinking water. Of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation, 90% are children under 5 years old.
